授業の目的・内容 /Course Objectives |
This course focuses on Japan’s postwar history and Japan’s relationship to its neighbor countries. In particular, we will examine how Japan’s imperial past continues to impact the present, affecting international politics in East Asia as well as sentiments of individual citizens. This class will give you a new look at Japan’s history beyond a history textbook. It will also help you understand important debates surrounding Japan’s postwar national identity and contested issues of memory. |
