/Course Objectives
□ Course Objectives
AE is a content-based course. Students are expected to develop an understanding of the course topic set by each instructor throughout the semester. As they develop their understanding of the course topic, students will conduct research and present their findings and opinions in writing and/or speaking.

□ Content
This course integrates English language learning with an exploration of the historical and cultural backgrounds of UNESCO World Heritage Sites around the world. Both natural and cultural heritage serve as essential resources for understanding the past and shaping the present and future. Through studying these sites, students will develop an appreciation of their own culture, respect for other cultures, and a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. Students will also learn how to conduct thematic research using reliable sources and deliver academic presentations.

□ Reading & Discussion
・read and evaluate texts in social sciences and humanities
・express one’s opinions about the course topic in a discussion constructively

□ Individual/Group Projects
・conduct independent research
・present the result of a project effectively in oral or/and written forms in a format designated by the instructor. This may include but is not limited to research paper and presentations.

Class is taught and participated in English.
