授業の目的・内容 /Course Objectives |
This course explores intercultural communication. It aims to help students examine the relationship between language and culture, as well as key factors that influence intercultural communication. The course introduces key concepts and theories from social psychology, linguistics, anthropology, and intercultural communication studies in an accessible way. The course emphasizes reading, listening, speaking, and writing, with particular emphasis on discussion. Through reading comprehension, vocabulary building, discussion activities, and writing tasks, it aims to help students think about intercultural communication while enhancing their ability to express ideas in English. Students will have opportunities to articulate their own views on intercultural issues while listening actively to their peers’ perspectives. By the end of this course, students are expected to participate in critical and constructive discussions on intercultural issues, demonstrate a basic understanding of intercultural communication, and broaden their perspectives beyond their own cultural context. | ||||||||||
