授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
This course will take students from paragraph structuring to essay writing through a process approach. Areas covered will include generating ideas, organizing, drafting, reviewing

In addition to regular homework assignments, students will be expected to produce a number of reports on subjects of their own choosing. Regular use of an electronic dictionary and access to a computer to type and upload completed writing assignments are essential

/Teaching method and Attention the course
This course includes lectures, exercises, and group work, with structured feedback on assignments (exams, reports, etc.) through explanations and comments.Each unit will be covered over two class sessions, allowing for a deeper understanding and practice of each topic. Both sessions will include short writing activities, with the first focusing on instruction and exercises, and the second emphasizing application, peer review, group activities, and continued writing practice.

Before Study: Analyze sample essays and create a simple outline for the upcoming topic. (Approx. 1 hour)

評価方法
/Evaluation
・Classroom Participation (20%): Active participation in class discussions, group work, and peer review sessions will be evaluated.
・Assignments (20%): Various assignments will be given throughout the semester, including essay drafts, outlines, and sentence structure practice.
・Essays (30%): All essays must be submitted by the specified deadlines. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Proper citation and original writing are required in all essays.
    Final Timed Report Evaluation (30%): To combat the use of AI & translation software, the final report will be handwritten in class within a set time

In addition to weekly use of the textbook & electronic dictionary, students will be required to download study materials, and submit their assignments either in class or to Manaba by the deadline.
