授業の目的・内容 /Course Objectives |
This course focuses on improving students’ "listening" and "reading" skills and their "competence to think critically in English as well as hold discussions in English, without using Japanese," as are stated in DP 2.Overall objectives are for students to obtain comprehensive English proficiency," as stated in the CP, by raising the ability of students to focus on on a wide array of topics through the use of current online media articles across a broad range of topics. Aside from reading and general fluency, other areas that will be addressed include critical thinking skills, presentation skills, listening skills, and vocabulary building. |

The reading and discussion of contemporary online media articles. The general format will be the presentation of a contemporary online media article, vocabulary and comprehension review, discussion/debate, and a weekly quiz at the end of the class. Active participation will be expected and, indeed, is an essential part of the assessment. |
