授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
The focus of the class this semester is the researched essay. Students will continue writing essays, but they become more academic in focus. Students will learn what constitutes good writing and they will develop skills in organizing and structuring their writing at the paragraph and essay level. Students will learn how to cite sources and to provide references.

Overall Objectives
1.  Understand what academic writing is
2.  Understand how to use outside materials to support writing and to cite them properly
3.  Develop stronger sentences and a larger vocabulary

/Teaching method and Attention the course
We will spend approximately two weeks on each chapter. We will spend approximately two weeks on each chapter, and class time will be spent doing exercises in the book, discussing with small groups, and individual writing tasks.
