授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	学習者が第二言語・外国語を習得するプロセスについて基礎的な内容を理解するため、SLA・英語教育分野における専門用語を学ぶ。日本の英語教育に関して特に近年重視されているテーマについての研究例を、概論書・研究論文を通して学ぶ。内容を把握した後は、受講生同士で議論を行い、その研究の意義、得られた研究結果の妥当性、さらに追求すべき事項について、自分の考えを明らかにする。特に、今後実施すべき英語教育研究について、レポートを通じて論じることができるようにする。 This course introduces students to major issues in English education in contemporary Japan through inquiry-based learning. Students will work in small groups to investigate one selected topic, conduct basic educational research (e.g., literature review, surveys, interviews, or case studies), and present their findings in English. The course aims to develop students’ critical thinking, research literacy, and academic communication skills while deepening their understanding of English education policy and practice.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Students will work in groups to explore one of the current issues in English language education in Japan (ex. The gap between entrance-exam-oriented education and practical English, the use of ICT, AI, and online learning tools, diversity and inclusion )  through inquiry-based learning. Each group is expected to conduct literature review, basic data collection (e.g., surveys or interviews if appropriate), case analysis, and propose possible solutions. This course is conducted mainly in English. Students are encouraged to use English actively in class. Limited use of Japanese is allowed when necessary for clarification or deeper discussion, especially in the early stages of the course.
