授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
Students will;
1) increase their knowledge of vocabulary, expressions, and sentence patterns used in presentations
2) plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate their own presentations on a variety of topics
3) learn techniques for brainstorming and outlining presentations
4) develop presentation techniques including presentation design, note cards, body languages, and voice projection
5) work individually and collaboratively in pairs/groups to prepare and deliver effective presentations

/Teaching method and Attention the course
This course will be conducted face-to-face on campus. The course is designed to develop students’ academic presentation skills in English, with a focus on organizing ideas, delivering clear presentations, and communicating effectively in academic contexts.

Classes will include a combination of guided instruction, demonstrations, and interactive activities. Students will analyze examples of effective academic presentations and learn practical techniques such as structuring a presentation, developing clear main points, designing effective visual aids, and delivering presentations. Students will also participate in pair work, small-group discussions, and peer feedback activities to practice presentation techniques. Students will give several presentations during the course. Instructor feedback will be provided using a presentation rubric that clearly outlines the evaluation criteria.
Students must bring their digital devices (e.g., laptops or tablets) and textbook to every class.

/Before After Study
Students are expected to prepare for each class and review after class by reviewing the assigned materials related to academic presentations, such as sample presentations, slides, or reading materials provided by the instructor. Students may also be asked to prepare outlines, draft slides, or short speaking tasks in advance of class. The expected preparation time as well as the review time is approximately more than 60 minutes per week.
