授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
This thematic reading course explores the writings of Angela Davis and other Black women thinkers. Davis is a political activist and philosopher. In class, we will explore and discuss her ideas on prisons, violence, mass incarceration, and human society through group work and discussion.

The first course objective is to gain a deeper understanding of ideas that are often regarded as outside the mainstream and to examine how they critically engage with the society in which they live.
The second course objective is to acquire knowledge of the sources of their ideas and opinions, paying close attention to the historical context.
The third course objective is to foster a strategic approach to understanding texts you would not otherwise read.
