授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	ドイツ語学科の3年次以上の学生を対象とする外国語科目であり、半期完結である。春学期および秋学期の両方で履修可能。 1～2年次の英語科目で培った学術英語の基礎力を基に、専門的なテーマの研究、プレゼンテーション、論文作成へと応用し、英語によるリサーチスキルを習得することを目的とする。ドイツ語圏に関連するテーマを選択し、研究動向を整理して内容を理解したうえで、批判的に考察 (critical thinking) し、自分の意見を表現できるようにする。 また、学術的な言語技能として、図表の説明方法、論文で頻繁に使用される表現、論の展開方法などを学ぶ。研究成果は1000語以上のリサーチペーパーにまとめ、授業内で発表する。授業活動は英語で行う。
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	授業はゼミに準ずる形式で行い、リサーチペーパーの書き方について、講義および練習問題を通して理解を深める。一方、トピックの内容については、各自でリサーチ計画を立て、文献調査を行い、その成果を発表したうえで、論文としてまとめることが求められる。 ・授業形態は原則として対面とするが、変更する場合は、あらかじめPorTa IIを通じて連絡する。 ・課題に対するフィードバックは、授業中に講評・解説を行うほか、manabaやeメールを用いて個別に連絡する。

事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	テキストの指定範囲を事前に読んでくること。リサーチペーパー執筆に向けた準備を各授業後に行い、次回授業時に提出すること（2時間）。具体的な内容については、授業計画の詳細に示す各回を参照のこと。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	授業参加・貢献20%、課題30%、発表20%、リサーチペーパー30% ※原則として 4 回以上欠席した学生は成績評価対象とならない。
関連科目 ／Related Subjects	German Studies in English IやAcademic Writing I, IIを履修済み、英語のパラグラフ・ライティングの基礎を理解していることが望ましい。
備考 ／Notes	英語力の目安：TOEIC 500点 教材配布・連絡が行われる学習システム（PorTa II, manaba)の種類、授業形態については、担当教員が初回授業で説明する。
