授業の目的・内容 /Course Objectives |
The objectives of this course are: 1. To give students practical experience in communicating their own physical message by emphasizing the importance of eye contact, posture, gestures, voice volume, voice inflection, and facial expressions when giving a presentation and facing an audience. 2. To give students experience in using visual representation within their presentation, with emphasis on using charts and/or graphs. 3. To build student confidence in speech communication in large and small contexts. 4. To help students develop a basic knowledge of organizing a speech and developing speech writing skills. No text is required. All materials will be provided in class. |

Based on academic content we will practice: a. confidence building speeches b. speech delivery skills (with emphasis on the physical message: eye contact, voice inflection, gestures, posture, body language) c. how to be an active listener d. using a chart or graph in a presentation (plus other visual aids) e. making an outline f. organizing a presentation g. presenting using small notes and or no notes h. collecting information for your speech/paper |
