授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
□Content
In this course, students will examine how technology benefits and affects our lives today.

□Reading & Discussion
・read and evaluate texts in social sciences and humanities
・express one’s opinions about the course topic in a discussion constructively

□Writing & Presentations
・write a research paper on the course topic with appropriate citation (600-900 words + bibliography)
・make a visually aided presentation of the paper

Class is taught and participated in English.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
1. In this class we (1) use manaba (LMS) for presenting learning materials, collecting assignments, and giving feedback, and (2) provide opportunities of exchanging opinions among students by introducing group work and peer reviews of written products.
2. Students’ active participation as well as sufficient preparation for each class are essential.
3. This course will be basically taught face-to-face. Some classes may be conducted online (e.g., Zoom), depending on the class content.
4. The class materials will be distributed by the teacher.

事前・事後学修の内容
/Before After Study
Read textbook units or other assigned readings and complete all assignments before beginning of the following class. Students are also expected to work on the research paper throughout the term. (Refer to 「授業計画詳細情報/ Course schedule: 事前・事後学修の内容 Before After Study」for details)
