授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This course is for students who want to be able to understand the news and current events in English. Overall Objectives 1. To help students access news in English without translation. 2. To help students to develop listening stradegies for news reports. 3. To encourage students to think about isssues from different perspectives. 4  To provide opportunites for students to discuss current events in English.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This course will be conducted face to face on the campus.  This class will use newpapers, magazine articles and video clips.  The teacher will present stragedies to help students understand the style and vocabulary of news articles.   Students will be expected to participate actively in discussions.  Students will do individual and group presentations.  Students will receive written and verbal feedback on their presentations and homework for the class.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students are expected to spend: - 30 minutes preparing for the class -30 minutes reviewing materials and doing research after class
