授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
In the this semester, the main focus of the class will be how to use citations and sources to help essays become more academic in their structure. The class will be interactive and require students to work in groups to discuss tasks related to writing skills. Students will receive model examples of the discussion topics which they should use for revision outside of class. After groupwork has been completed, supplementary homework activities will be set in order to consolidate what is covered in each class. Students will be required to submit a mid-term essay and a final essay using the information that has been practiced in class-work. All essay assignments will be returned with individual feedback so that students can rewrite their work based on the comments provided. Students will be informed in advance whether classes will be on Zoom or will be campus based. If classes are online, class content and teaching methods will be exactly the same as a regular campus based class.
事前・事後学修の内容
/Before After Study
Students should spend at least one to two hours reviewing the materials covered in class to consolidate the information presented. This includes spending adequate time preparing all homework assignments which should be submitted the day before the class by mail attachment. Sharing the answers to homework assignments will form part of group-work activities at the beginning of class. Model answers provided after discussion activities should also be used for reference and review outside of class.
