授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	1. To help students understand the typical structure of a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand (genre-specific) patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students use a variety of references and utilize Internet sources 5. To help students revise and edit their essays 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To help students become more familiar with referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles)
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This course will continue students' writing progress from Semester 1. The course structure is similar. Students will continue to write longer essays and develop useful writing techniques. Students will practice other types of essays (Problem/Solution, Process 2, Response) and later focus more on research essays. For each essay, students will peer review their classmates' essays and revise their work. Afterwards, students will evaluate the revised essays and grade their classmates' work, promoting independent and collaborative writing and learning. The teacher will give feedback in class and for the midterm/final essays. Students will also practice key writing techniques and skills for each essay. More autonomy and extensive practice, as well as independent and collaborative tasks, help students become better writers This course will be taught face to face on campus. All the relevant materials and handouts will be provided during the course. No special applications required.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students will start their essays in class and they will finish writing them at home. Students should spend around 60 minutes writing their essays. Peer review and revision will be done in class and finished at home (30-40 minutes). For each essay, student will evaluate and grade their classmates' essays, which should take 30-40 minutes. The research essays will take longer to complete (90-120 minutes). Writing technique exercises will be practiced online for homework (20-30 minutes).
