授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	These courses focus on improving students’ "vocabulary," "grammar" and "reading" skills, as stated in DP 2. They help students acquire the basics of "written receptive skills," as stated in the CP. These are one-semester-long courses required for first-year students in Group A of the English department (I-spring semester, II-fall semester). The primary purpose of this course is to put into practice the knowledge students are learning in Reading Strategies I/II courses. Students are required to work with Practical English 8 and ALC NetAcademy 2 in order to build their vocabulary and improve their reading skills. Overall Objectives 1. To help them build their vocabulary 2. To help them improve their grammar/reading skills
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	この授業はオンデマンド配信型遠隔形式で実施します(ただし、初回の授業のみzoomによるライブ配信を併用)。毎週、manabaの授業ページにアクセスし指示に従い自律的に学習します。具体的な学習の進め方は初回のzoom授業で説明するので、必ず出席してください。zoomのミーティングURL等は、初回の授業までにPorTa IIおよびmanabaで掲示します。何かわからない事があれば講師にメール (funakoshik@dokkyo.ac.jp)で問い合わせてください。 E-learning教材であるPractical English 8およびALC NetAcademy 2を使用して、自宅で文法・リーディング・語彙を自律学習する。毎週、manabaを利用して自習した内容に関する小テストを実施する。また秋学期はTOEFLの演習問題にも取り組む。 E-learning教材であるPractical English 8およびALC NetAcademy 2を使用して、自宅で文法・リーディング・語彙を自律学習する。毎週、manabaを利用して自習した内容に関する小テストを実施する。また秋学期はTOEFLの演習問題にも取り組む。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	与えられたID・パスワードを用い、Practical English 8およびALC NetAcademy 2にアクセスし、テスト計画に従って学習を進める。毎週少なくとも２時間以上の自律学習を行う。
