授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	この講義は，英語学科の教育課程の編成・実施方針（カリキュラム・ポリシー）や学位授与方針（ディプロマ・ポリシー）が示す「英語の運用能力を養成し、英語圏の言語・文学・文化・社会・国際関係などを理解するための専門知識を身につけた、国際的な視野にたつ教養人を育成する」ことを念頭に置いたうえで、以下の目的を目指します。 カリフォルニア、とりわけ San Francisco Bay Area の歴史をテキストでたどりながら、ここで生まれた詩と音楽をシンクロさせながら、カリフォルニア文化とは何かを考察します。 1950年代以降にサンフランシスコ・ベイ・エリアで書かれた詩やその場所を歌ったポピュラー・ミュージックを取り上げながら、アメリカ先住民の文化、ビート、ポエトリー・リー ディング、ベトナム戦争、ホモセクシュアリティ、ドラッグ、カウンターカルチャー、環境問題、ロック・ミュージック、禅仏教などについてお話します。
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	新型コロナウイルスの感染状況によりますが、教室で対面のみの授業をおこないます。 この授業は、講義と演習を組み合わせた形式で行います。本授業は対面授業形式で行ない、講義とグループ・ディスカッションを併用して進めます。担当グループの受講者が分担してプリゼンを行い、担当者はプリゼンの資料を発表の2日前までにmanabaにアップロードし、それをもとにプリゼンを行います。当日にPWを使うことも可能です。プリゼンの後、フロアの受講生を含めた全体で質疑応答に移ります。 最初の授業に出席できない方は、<shara@dokkyo.ac.jp>へご連絡ください。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	英語学科の学位授与方針に沿って、グローバル社会に関する専門的知識を習得しているか、それらの背景や諸問題を的確に理解分析しているか、そして自らの見解を論理的に表現する能力を身に付けているかを重視して評価します。
関連科目 ／Related Subjects	学期末レポート８０％、授業での発言２０％。 欠席が5回以上の場合は、評価の対象とはしません。
