授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	日々報じられるさまざまなニュースの中でも、特に社会の中で埋もれていた事実が明かされるような報道は「調査報道(investigative journalism）」と呼ばれ、ジャーナリストや報道機関が独自の問題意識のもとで取材を重ねて世に出るものです。この授業では、アメリカで書かれたある報道をめぐるノンフィクションを読み、情報の送り手である記者たちがどのように事実を掘り起こしていったかを追いながら 、investigative journalismとその果たす役割について考えます。 テキストのChasing the Truth: A Young Journalist's Guide to Investigative Reportingは、2017年にハリウッドの大物プロデューサーの長年に渡るセクシャルハラスメントの実態を明らかにし、その後#MeTooムーブメントに繋がる報道を行ったNew York Timesの２人の記者たちによるノンフィクションShe SaidのYoung adult adaptation版です。原作の内容を損なうことなく、特に調査報道を実践することに関心のある若者を意識し、記者たちが事態の真実をどのように明らかにしていったかに焦点を当てて再編集されています。本書を読むことはアメリカのジャーナリズム、社会事情に接する機会ともなり、さらには日々接するメディアについて考えることにも繋がるでしょう。 また、この授業ではテキストを複合的に理解する補助として、関連するThe New York Timesの記事なども複数読む予定です。取材という行為のプロセスを知ることでニュースの読み方が変わるきっかけにもなればと思います。 テキストを読み進める上では、受講生にレジュメを作成して内容の報告をしていただきます。レジュメを作る上ではテキストの内容の把握だけでなく、関係する事柄なども調べてください。内容についてグループや全員でディスカッションもしますので、しっかり準備し、積極的に参加してください。期間中にミニレポートなどの課題を課すことがあります。
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	【授業の形式・テキストの入手等について】 ・対面形式の授業を行います。 ・レジュメやテキストに関係するウェブサイトなどを見ることがありますが、教室のスクリーンでは見えづらい可能性があるため、授業にはスマホではなくパソコン持参で参加することを強く推奨します。 ・授業に関する連絡や課題の提出などはmanaba経由で行いますが、必要に応じてメールでのやりとりもします。 ・テキストは大学書籍部ぶっくぎゃらりいDUOに注文しますので、そちらでの購入をお勧めします。Amazonでも注文はできますが、取り寄せに時間がかかる可能性があります。Kindle版もあります。 ・サブテキストとして読む記事などは、随時manaba経由で配布します。 【授業の進め方】 ・受講生全員にレジュメを作成して報告をしていただきますが、そのやり方や担当などの詳細は第1回の授業で説明するので、必ず参加してください。 ・全体やグループでディスカッションもします。充実したディスカッションができるようにテキストはしっかり読んで参加してください。 ・授業の進捗状況に応じて、多少内容や進め方が変更する可能性があります。 【その他】 ・この授業は通年で受講されることを念頭に計画していますので、そのつもりで受講してください。 ・4回以上欠席した場合、単位は保証できません。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	テキストの指定された箇所や、指定された記事を読んでくる必要があります。（1−２時間） 内容を理解した上で読み進めないと途中で話についていけなくなりますので、しっかり読むようにしてください。
