授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	英語学科の教育課程の編成・実施方針（カリキュラム・ポリシー）や学位授与方針（ディプロマ・ポリシー）が示す「英語の運用能力を養成し、英語圏の言語・文学・文化・社会・国際関係などを理解するための専門知識を身につけた、国際的な視野にたつ教養人を育成する」ことを念頭に置いたうえで、以下の目的を目指します。 ゲーリー・スナイダー(Gary Snyder b. 1930)の詩集『今この瞬間』This Present Moment (2015) は、現在わたしたちが直面している環境問題を含めた地球という生命体「ガイア」についての作品が収められています。スナイダーは、日本での禅の修行、エコロジー、神話、自分が暮らす場所、そしてウィルダネスへの旅をとおして得てきた経験と知識をこのテキストに織り込みました。このクラスの目的は、スナイダーの詩をとおして、ガイアで暮らすための新しいライフスタイルを考えることにあります。
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	この授業は対面形式で行います。学生のペアによるプリゼンを中心とした発表・討論の形式で行い、学期末にレポートを提出してもらいます。DVDやＣＤを使って、「声としての詩」についても紹介します。最初の授業でプリゼンのペアと担当作品を決めるので必ず出席のことしてください。 各回の連絡と資料は、manabaを使って行います。授業では、学生によるグループ・ディスカッションを行うので、各自、疑問点とコメントを整理してきてください。 ９／２８の最初の授業に出席できない方は、事前に<shara@dokkyo.ac.jp>へお知らせください。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	次回取りあげる作品を読み、疑問点とコメントをまとめおく。 プリゼンターは、発表資料を２日前までに、manabaで知らせる。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	英語学科の学位授与方針に沿って、グローバル社会に関する専門的知識を習得しているか、それらの背景や諸問題を的確に理解分析しているか、そして自らの見解を論理的に表現する能力を身に付けているかを重視して評価します。 作品論のレポート７０％、プレゼンテーション２０％、授業での発言１０％。 5回以上欠席の場合は、評価の対象とはしません。
