授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	ドイツ語学科の3年次以上の学生を対象とする外国語科目で半期完結です。春・秋学期両方の履修も可能です。 Academic Reading/Listening Strategies I-IIで培った学術英語の基礎力を、専門的なテーマの研究、プレゼンテーション、論文作成に応用し、英語のリサーチスキルを習得することを目的とします。ドイツ語圏に関連したテーマを選び、研究動向を整理して内容を理解したうえで、批判的に考え (critical thinking)、自分の意見を表現できるようにします。学術的な言語技能として、図表の説明、論文でよく使われる表現、論展開の方法などを学びます。研究成果はリサーチペーパー（1000語以上）にまとめ、授業で発表します。授業活動は英語で行います。
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	授業は、ゼミに準ずる形式で、リサーチペーパーの書き方について、講義と練習問題を通して理解する一方で、トピックの内容は、各自でリサーチの計画を立て、文献を調査し、発表し、論文にまとめることが求められる。 ・授業形態は対面を基本とするが、変更する場合はPorTa IIからあらかじめ連絡する。 ・課題に対するフィードバックは、授業中に講評・解説を行うほか、大学LMSやeメールを使って個別に連絡する。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	テキストの指定範囲を事前に読んでくる（2時間）リサーチペーパー執筆に向けての準備を毎授業後に行い、次回授業時に提出する（2時間）。具体的には、授業計画の詳細の各回を参照のこと。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	授業参加・貢献20%、課題30%、発表20%、リサーチペーパー30% ※原則として 4 回以上欠席した学生は成績評価対象とならない。
関連科目 ／Related Subjects	German Studies in English IやAcademic Writing I, IIを履修済み、英語のパラグラフ・ライティングの基礎を理解していることが望ましい。
備考 ／Notes	英語力の目安：TOEIC 500点 教材配布・連絡が行われる学習システム（PorTa II, manaba)の種類、授業形態については、担当教員が初回授業で説明する。
到達目標 ／Learning Goal	ドイツ語圏の時事をテーマとして、英語の「読む」「書く」「話す」「聴く」という、言語の４技能を２年次より総合的に伸長し、運用できるようにする。
