/Course Objectives
This course provides an introduction to second language acquisition (SLA) theory, research and its application to language teaching and learning. Second-language acquisition is a multidisciplinary field, and we will survey the principle contributions from the perspectives of linguistics, psychology, and sociology.  Established theories will be investigated and discussed in the spring term and then these theories will be evaluated as they are applied in the language learning classroom and context.
