授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
We will develop one of your most important English communication skills: giving presentations. We will focus on the skills you need to communicate in academic settings.
Class time will be spent on speaking activities, creating, and giving presentations.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
We will use a textbook. We will study face to face in class, with homework due on MyDOC.

You will make 3 formal presentations. You will get direct feedback orally on your presentations from your instructor and from other students to help you improve.

You will be given an assignment each week. Your assignment will be due by the night before the next class. Assignments will be graded on line so you can see how you are doing.

Students questions and comments are always welcome in class or on line.
事前・事後学修の内容
/Before After Study
Students are expected to prepare for activities, evaluations and exams outside of class time and to speak actively in each class. You will prepare 3 formal presentations. And homework will be due on MyDOC about what is covered in class each week. Expect to spend an hour each week on your assignments..

2 Explore the topic, pp. 44-46 Start Ch 4 in the book, facts, explaining Look through your textbook. Be ready
3 Explaining a process  pp. 47-49 Thinking about our first presentation challenge, brainstorming. Do the homework
4 Adding impact  pp. 50-52 We will practice openers, topic Statements, Conclusions and closers. Review classwork think about your own presentation
5 Questions and preparing your p  pp. 53-55 practice answering questions and putting your presentation together Practice your presentation for next week
6 First formal presentation and pp. 56-58 Enjoying each others presentations, move on to the next unit Reflect on your presentation. How will you do better next time.
