授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This is a designated course offered to freshmen in the Faculties of Law and Economics, and to majors of German and French. This course is offered in parallel with Academic Reading Strategies I (ARS I). This course is designed to build students’ abilities to understand natural spoken English in academic contexts. Students will listen to passages such as academic lectures, formal presentations, meetings, and conversations between students. Skills such as note-taking, making inferences, and discussion will be practiced in class. The course also aims to develop learners’ critical thinking skills and overall academic literacy. 基礎的なリスニング力を大学での勉強や仕事に活かせる実践的なレベルに発展させます。日常会話、インタビュー、レクチャーなどを聞いて内容を確認するほか、TOEIC L&R TestⓇの聴解問題にも取り組み、頻出表現の学習を行います。
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	これはコース共通の情報を伝達するコースシラバスです。各クラスの授業担当教員がどのように授業を実施するか、必ずPorTa II上のクラスシラバスを確認してください。授業は音声教材を扱いますのでCAL教室で実施します。 課題にはスケジュール通りに取り組み、クラスメートと活発にフィードバ ックや意見を交換することが求められます。教員からのフィードバックは授業内で実施します。 教員からの連絡、オンラインの資料・課題配布は、学内システムであれば「PorTa II」「My DOC」「manaba」 を利用します。どのシステムを使うかは、授業担当教員の指示に従うこと。 教科書は学内書店ぶっくぎゃらりぃDUOにオンライン注文ができますので、できるだけ第一回目の授業開始前に購入してください。 CAL教室で使用するヘッドセットは学生自身で用意すること。学内書店ぶっくぎゃらりぃDUOで1000円で販売しているものを購入のこと。既に持っているものを使用しても良いが、以下の2点を満たしていること：マイク、ヘッドホンが１つのプラグで使用できるもの（3.5mm４極ミニプラグ(CTIA規格準拠)）、両耳タイプ
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	1. My DOC上のTOEIC L&R TestⓇ（12回分）は、繰り返しの使用を推奨します。毎週１セットは必ず取り組むこと。 2. 授業担当教員の指示に従って課題に取り組むこと。 3. 事前にテキストで指定された箇所を読み、課題に取り組む。事後には、修正箇所を見直すこと。事前・事後学習には、それぞれ30分以上は費やし、理解の促進を図ること。
