授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
The objective of the course is to spark critical thinking and meaningful discussions. The engaging topics will support student's language practice and deepen their understanding of topics enabling them express personal points of views, have animated interactions and give meaningful presentations.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
Lessons will be based on immersive tasks developed in the textbook and geared towards helping students' speaking skills and confidence. Speaking tasks will be interactive, balanced and facilitated by the teacher. You will also be taught presentation skills and will be expected to give presentations in class. Feedback to each presentation will be given in class. The teacher will be using MyDOC to manage this course. This means he will post the class content, syllabus, assignments, tests and announcements here on MyDOC for students to check and prepare for classes. We will be using Zoom to have online classes so the teacher will be sending you the Zoom link a few days before the first class. On-demand and face to face classes will also be an option and the teacher will provide you with the details during the course.

Grading criteria: Vocabulary quizzes: 30 percent. Mid-term Speaking evaluations: 20 percent. Final Speaking Evaluation: 30 percent. Attendance and Class participation: 20 percent. NB: Four or more absences will automatically result in a grade of ‘F’
