授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	The course focuses on improving students' "speaking" and “listening" skills and their "competence to think critically in English as well as hold discussions in English, without using Japanese," as stated in DP 2. Overall objectives are for students "to obtain comprehensive English proficiency" and "to engage in logical discussions using English," as stated in the CP.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	We learn to discuss meaningfully only through lots of focuses practice. Students will sometimes present topics they have researched during the week and then lead a discussion of a few minutes with the other students in the small group contributing their own input. Other times students will research assigned topics and take turns leading discussion groups. Discussions will be followed by a debriefing analysis and critique. Teacher feedback will be provided during the debrief. All classes will be held on campus in face to face classroom meetings.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	After each class there will be a research and preparation assignment to complete during the week. This will take between 30 minutes and an hour to complete.
