授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	1. To help students understand the typical structure of a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand (genre-specific) patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students use a variety of references and utilize Internet sources 5. To help students revise and edit their essays 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To help students become more familiar with referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles)
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Classes will be face-to-face in the classroom unless the university instructs us to go online. There will be a variety of pair work and group work activities and I will give PowerPoint interactive lectures for certain classes. I ask students to prepare tasks before the class to make the class better. Students will prepare an outline and first draft for each essay assignment. Each essay will be revised according to the feedback received and all essay will be submitted as a portfolio before the deadline
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Spend an hour reviewing the class and completing the assigned tasks for the next week's class. Write an outline and first draft for each essay assignment. Revise according to feedback and submit as a portfolio of final drafts by the deadline.
