授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of
English language skills (with an emphasis on oral communication) by applying practical
communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high
school.
Overall Objectives
1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate
2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication
3. To begin to develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four
years of English study at this institution

This course will focus on two forms of discussion and conversation skills; academic (for the classroom and school activities that will be applicable in later courses) and casual/formal ( for generalized English communication)
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意
/Teaching method and Attention the course
This class will be conducted in English, and students are expected to speak in English with the instructor and with their classmates during the class time period. If you are having difficulties tell me.
In class students will participate in a variety of activities through pair work  and groupwork. Listening and speaking in a second language require student to develop communication strategies and also acquire the language necessary to communicate through constant practice with the materials given to help you.
Students work together in groups to prepare short performances before classmates and individually to prepare topics to share in pair work and group activities and discussions

Spend one hour after each class reviewing the class content, completing tasks and reading materials for the next class and writing in their reflection journal
