授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students. Overall Objectives 1．To increase their vocabulary 2．To review grammar 3．To develop basic reading skills & strategies 4．To understand how various texts are organized This course focuses on improving students’ "vocabulary," "grammar" and "reading" skills, as stated in DP, 2. Overall objectives are for them to acquire the basics of "written receptive skills," as stated in the CP.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	毎回の授業では、テキストを使用した基本的なリーディング・スキルの習得、課題パッセージの読解、ディスカッションが中心となる。 ※本授業は、対面形式で行います。ライブ配信型授業、オンデマンド配信型授業は行いません。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	毎週授業前に課題を自宅で終わらせて提出すること。また授業で学習した語彙、表現、テキストを復習すること。（2時間程度）
