授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This course will enable students to master basic paragraph structuring through a process approach to academic writing. Areas covered will include generating ideas, organizing, drafting and reviewing essays In addition to regular homework assignments, students will be expected to produce a number of reports on subjects of their own choosing. Regular use of an electronic dictionary and access to a computer to type and upload completed writing assignments are essential
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this course will be taught online, on demand, without any synchronous lessons Various writing skills will be covered week by week, using the text book. Relevant grammatical patterns will also be practiced in preparation for the subsequent report. Students will be free to choose their own topics about which to write, and will be able to brainstorm ideas & supporting points in preparation. However, the report will be completed as homework and be expected to be printed and uploaded before the deadline.
