授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-semester course is compulsory for second-year students. Overall Objectives 1. To increase academic vocabulary and to further the development of vocabulary/vocabulary building skills in general 2. To automatize more accurate grammatical knowledge and recognize cohesive devices 3. To develop a better understanding of various styles and purposes of reading material 4. To develop effective reading skills (intensive reading, extensive reading, etc.) 5. To introduce students to authentic texts/outside readers
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	本講義では、映画を題材に、アメリカの抱える社会問題や文化への理解を深め、原書の一部を読むことにより、さらなる探求心を深めることを目的とする。 この授業はオンライン（オンデマンド型授業）で行ないます。初日は対面となりますので、教室にお集まりくださいますよう、お願いいたします。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	平常点（課題の提出40%）、課題内容、まとめのレポート（60％）の総合評価とします。全体の 1/3 以上を欠席してしまうと、その時点で単位認定が難しくなります。
