授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	As societies have become more “globalized” in the recent years, we often come across the term “global studies”. Despite such common usage of the term, it is not an easy task to define global studies. What is the definition of global studies? This course aims to tackle this challenging task. It is designed to help students enhance their knowledge and understanding of global studies. As shown in the course schedule, the course begins with a basic explanation of the term global studies. Students will be exposed to various aspects of the subject throughout the semester. After focusing on the theoretical aspects of global studies, the focus then will be placed on various issues related to the subject to further enhance the understanding of global studies.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This course is taught in English. It is an ideal course for students who wish to learn global studies in English. This is a lecture course but the style may be modified according to the number of students enrolled. Porta II and University Web-Mail System will be used as the essential tools of communication. Students are expected to prepare an appropriate Internet environment to use these tools constantly. Including the first class, classes will basically be conducted in a face-to-face environment. In addition, the classes could be participated through Zoom for students unable to come to the campus for various reasons such as poor health condition. In terms of the use of Zoom, further details will be provided by the instructor before the first class through Porta II. 初回を含め、本講義は基本的に対面式で行いますが、体調不良等の諸事情により対面授業に出席できない受講者向けに、ズームを使用したライブ型配信も同時に行います。ズームでの出席に関する詳細は、初回授業の前にPorta II経由でお知らせします。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	Evaluations will be made according to midterm assignment (50%), and final assignment (50%). Details will be explained by the instructor in the first class.
