授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term semi-elective course aims to further develop and build on language communication skills covered in Comprehensive English I/II and Reading Strategies I/II. The prerequisites for the Communication Skills are Comprehensive English I/II and Reading Skills I/II or a TOEIC score of 600 or above. Overall Objectives 1. Giving students maximum opportunity to practice and develop their communication skills; 2. To improve reading comprehension via critical analysis of text; 3. To foster student responsibility by involving students more directly in the learning process; 4. To foster a mature, analytical and constructively critical approach toward the development and presentation of one's own ideas and opinions;
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Materials: Text copy handouts, English Conversation Practice handouts, Discussion tests, Debate tests, journals. For example, in a typical lesson 15 min. will be writing of journals in order to improve writing skills and generate ideas; 20 minutes devoted to studying handouts; 20 minutes devoted to doing exercises from handouts; final part of class group discussions and teacher explanations of the next week's homework. In addition, it is encouraged that students bring their laptop computers to class as some homework assignments and email from teacher can be used online, even for in person classes. This will improve the overall quality of the class time.
