1. To help students understand the typical structure of a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand (genre-specific) patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students use a variety of references and utilize Internet sources 5. To help students revise and edit their essays 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To help students become more familiar with referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles) |

授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course |
Because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic, the teacher’s age and underlying health concerns, this class will now be conducted through handouts and assignments set online through manaba. Unfortunately, the university will not allow Zoom classes on a weekday, thus there will be no face-to-face contact possible with the teacher. Due to the nature of the study in this class, there are many opportunities for the students to discuss many issues with other class members. It is hoped that you will be able to find someone also attending the class and do lots of discussion with them through FaceTime, WhatsApp, Line or such like. Good luck with your studies. DON’T WORRY. YOU WILL NOT BE OVERLOADED WITH ASSIGNMENTS IN THIS CLASS. Every week, you will need to check manaba for the lesson handouts and the stuff you need to do. |
