授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	Overall Objectives 1. To provide an overview of what constitutes a ‘good’ paragraph 2. To learn how to properly format a typed paragraph 3. To help students write about themselves and their experiences 4. To help students write clear, coherent and properly-structured paragraphs 5. To help students analyze and revise their writing 6. To help students become familiar with computer literacy and the use of Microsoft Word or Googledocs to create well-formatted documents.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	授業では主に日本語で解説を行いますが、質疑応答やペアワーク、グループワーク等のアウトプットは英語で行います。また、ライティングの基礎を身につけるためにはリーディングの力も必須です。アウトプットのみに気を取られないように注意して学修してください。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	事前学修として、授業範囲をPorTallで確認し、教科書の予習とライティング課題の準備をする。事後学修として、授業で理解に不安のある箇所を確認し、ライティング課題で指摘された箇所があれば読み直し修正する。（各1時間） 予習してあることを前提として授業を進めます。各自取り組んでから授業に参加しください。

1	Course introduction Unit 1-1, 2	授業の進め方や評価方法の確認。今学期の目標をライティングする。授業の進め方や評価方法の確認。今学期の目標をライティングする。 Process Step 1 & 2	PorTaIIでシラバスを読んでおく。Unit 1 Process Step 1と2を予習する。授業後は理解があいまいだった点を復習する。
2	Unit 1-3, 4	Process Step 3 & 4	PorTaIIの掲示を確認する。Unit 1のためのbrainstorming, outliningの方法を確認しておく。授業後brainstormingし、ライティングのアイディアを出す。
3	Unit 2 Descriptive Paragraphs (1)	Stimulating Ideas	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Outlineが首尾一貫しているか確認する。授業後に課題のreviseを行う。
4	Unit 2 Descriptive Paragraphs (2)	Brainstorming and Outlining	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Unit 2課題のためのbrainstorming, outliningの方法を確認しておく。授業後brainstormingしアイディアを出しておく。
5	Unit 2 Descriptive Paragraphs (3)	Developing Your Ideas	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Brainstormingしたアイディアをもとにoutlineを作成してくる。授業で作成したoutlineを見直し完成させる。
6	Unit 2 Descriptive Paragraphs (4)	Editing Your Writing	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Outlineをもとに1st draftを作成してくる。授業後1st draftをreviseしておく。
7	Unit 2 Descriptive Paragraphs (5)	Putting It All Together	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Final draftを書いてくる。授業後、reviseしておく。
8	Unit 3 Example Paragraphs (1)	Stimulating Ideas	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Reviseしたfinal draftを印刷してくる。授業後、PorTaで提出する。
9	Unit 3 Example Paragraphs (2)	Brainstorming and Outlining	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Unit 3課題のためbrainstorming, outliningの方法を確認しておく。授業後、outlineを完成させる。
10	Unit 3 Example Paragraphs (3)	Developing Your Ideas	PorTaの掲示を確認する。Brainstormingしたアイディアをもとにoutlineを作成してくる。授業で作成したoutlineを見直し完成させる。
