授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term, twice-a-week required class helps first-year students learn how to improve their English language communication skills by introducing the organizational skills necessary to become a more competent speaker and writer. Overall Objectives 1. To help students to develop a basic knowledge of the skills required for organizing a speech and developing speech writing skills 2. To give students maximum opportunities to develop their speech delivery and speech writing skills 3. To build student confidence in speech communication in small and larger group contexts
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Students will learn to give presentations on a wide variety of topics. With support and practice, they will improve their presentation skills and acquire the key skills and techniques every good presenter uses. In the first half of the course, students will have the opportunity to analyse video presentations and then create their own mini-presentation every week. In the second half of the course, students will learn how to write longer scripts and how to give more academic or challenging presentations. This course will take place face to face.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	As a practical and hands-on skill, the majority of students’ learning and practice will take place in the classroom. However, students will complete weekly reflections on their development. Students will also create online presentations at home several times during the semester. This is a face to face course.

評価方法 ／Evaluation	Students will be assessed on their weekly presentations and participation in class (30%), reflective worksheets (20%), and four main assessed presentations (50%).
