授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of English language skills (with an emphasis on oral communication) by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high school. Overall Objectives 1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication 3. To begin to develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four years of English study at this institution
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Students will interact and communicate in every class. Students will improve their speaking skills and communication skills by discussing and communicating in pairs and groups, collaborating on a variety of tasks, and sharing their stories with each other through mini-presentations and narrated videos. This is a face to face course.

評価方法 ／Evaluation	Students will be regularly assessed using classroom work (30%), homework tasks (30%), role play script writing (10%) and 3 student created videos/presentations (30%).
