授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students. Overall Objectives 1．To increase their vocabulary 2．To review grammar 3．To develop basic reading skills & strategies 4．To understand how various texts are organized
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	アクティブ・ラーニングの手法に基づき、Manabaをフルに活用した学習者中心の「資料・課題配信型授業」と「（zoomでの）ライブ型遠隔授業」を行います。単位修得のためには、活発な授業参加が必須です。リーディングのクラスではありますが、「書き方を知っている人は、読むのが圧倒的に早い」という前提のもと、ライティングの基礎固めを徹底します。受講生が提出する全ての課題において、受講生間のピア・アセスメントまたは教員によるフィードバックが行われます。また、受講生には学術論文の活用方法と読み方の基礎も修得していただきます。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	受講生は、すべてのコース資料を読み、タスクを着実にこなす必要があります。授業参加時間以外に、毎週約１時間の事前・事後学修が必要です。

評価方法 ／Evaluation	1．小エッセー（400語）（20%)：修正を少なくとも２度行うことで、英文の基本的ルールの確認と高度な英文（学術論文）を読むための準備をします。 2．小グループでの研究発表（30％）：小エッセーの問いに対するグループとしての回答を、約10分間の英語での口頭発表（グループ発表）にまとめます。高度な英文を読む際のストラテジーの定着を図るとともに、日本語を介さず英語で論理的に思考する力を鍛えます。 3．個人レポート（600-800 words：引用文献リストを除く）（30%）：本科目の学修成果を振り返ります。英語で論理的思考を表現する能力と、英文の基本的ルールの理解を確認します。 4．ピアフィードバック（20％）：他の受講生の課題へのフィードバックを継続的に行うことで、学修成果の定着を図ります。
