授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students. Overall Objectives 1．To increase their vocabulary 2．To review grammar 3．To develop basic reading skills & strategies 4．To understand how various texts are organized
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Group work and pair work will be used often in this class. You are expected to collaborate with others and actively participate in class tasks. This class will be conducted in ENGLISH ONLY. Feedback will be provided both from the instructor and peers. It is your responsibility to download/print out/submit necessary documents on Manaba. この授業ではManabaを利用し対面授業を基本とします。また、感染拡大などの理由により一部遠隔授業またはzoomによる授業に変更することがあります。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	指定箇所の事前精読、課題、プレゼンテーション準備、リーディングジャーナル 授業参加時間以外に毎週約１時間の事前・事後学習が必要です。
