授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of English language skills with an emphasis on oral communication and real-world  communication strategies. Overall objectives: 1. to give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. to build student confidence in interpersonal communication 3. to develop basic English-language study skills
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	1) active learning: classes are communicative and require full participation 2) pair and group work in a variety of task-based activities 3) flipped classroom (see below)
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	This course will follow a flipped classroom strategy throughout: students must prepare for each week's classes by studying the relevant textbook unit (at least 100 minutes)
