授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This class will focus on practical listening skills for academic purposes. Emphasis will be placed on the use of strategies that will make you a better listener, a better note-taker, and a better learner. These skills will be useful, not just in English, but in any language and in ALL of your classes. While exploring interesting topics (such as news, television, and the internationalization of English), we will learn to listen for important lecture information and to take notes effectively. We will use information from real English lectures to hold discussions and give presentations.   Evaluation will be based on class performance, examinations, and presentations.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This class will consist of textbook work and discussions based around listening and video passages. Lectures will be held via Zoom, while homework and assignments will be assigned via My Doc and Google Forms. Quizzes and tests will be administered through ClassMarker.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students are expected to to study vocabulary in preparation for in-class quizzes, and to review class materials for the final examination.
