授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	In this class, we will develop one of your most important English communication skills: speaking. This course will focus on the strategies and key expressions you need to use English in academic settings exploring a range of interesting and provocative topics. Class time will be spent on speaking activities to help you build confidence as a speaker of English. The more you practice, the more you will be able to speak clearly and naturally.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	All classes will be taught online, mainly through manaba and Zoom. Classwork and tests will be based on the textbook. You will need to upload audio (or video) files for your speaking tests. There is a code inside your textbook to hear the textbook audio files and watch the video files.  There is also vocabulary practice at https://quizlet.com/join/VqsqxdVNj to help you improve your English.

評価方法 ／Evaluation	There will be 3 speaking tests and 2 written tests, each worth 20%. The speaking tests should be uploaded as audio (or video) files to the forum thread in manaba. The written tests should be done in the tests section of manaba. All tests are based on the textbook and should be completed by the deadline. 原則として4 回以上欠席した学生は成績評価対象とならない。In principle, four or more absences will automatically result in a grade of F or X.
