授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	□Content In this course students will explore role technology plays in social interaction and dig deeper into a sub-topic of their choosing. Using authentic material, they will attempt to synthesize information into a short academic write-up. □Reading & Discussion ・read and evaluate texts in social sciences and humanities ・express one’s opinions about the course topic in a discussion constructively □Writing & Presentations ・write a research paper on the course topic with appropriate citation (600-900 words + bibliography) ・make a visually aided presentation of the paper Class is taught and participated in English.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Type 1: Distribute and collect (using documents in Porta and web mail) The textbook will be used to learn how to write good research papers. The main goal is to look at a sub-topic in depth and write a short research paper based on information collected online and opinions formulated. The main ideas can finally be formatted into a PowerPoint file to be submitted along with a Word file of the main research paper.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Read textbook units or other assigned readings and complete all assignments before beginning of the following class. Students are also expected to work on the research paper throughout the term.
