授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	□Content The purpose of this course is to allow the students to engage in and explore a variety of current issues in society. □Reading & Discussion ・read and evaluate texts in social sciences and humanities ・express one’s opinions about the course topic in a discussion constructively □Writing & Presentations ・write a research paper on the course topic with appropriate citation (600-900 words + bibliography) ・make a visually aided presentation of the paper Class is taught and participated in English.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	The lessons this semester will be conducted live online. You will need to use Zoom and you will need the Zoom app. It will be best if you have a personal computer and are able to connect to wifi. Due to this new method, the course contents may change, but the overall approach will be the same. A link for the Zoom online live class will be posted on Porta II. Other information and materials may be posted there, too. So check that site regularly.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Read textbook units or other assigned readings and complete all assignments before beginning of the following class. Students are also expected to work on the research paper throughout the term.
