授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	「英語 III (IE)」に引き続き，多様なテーマに関する読解・調査・ディスカッションを通して4技能および語彙・文法・読解ストラテジーの統合的学習を行う．この授業では，読んだ内容を建設的に批判した上で，問題解決方法を調査し，自らの知識・経験と結びつけて提案することが求められる．当該単元毎に内容を評価し，自分の意見を含めて文章にまとめる．この他に課外活動として多読学習を行う．Involves integrated learning of English in four skills, vocabulary, grammar, and reading skills.  Students are requested to read the text critically, conduct research on the issue, and make a proposal for the solution while referring to their individual knowledge and experience.  The final product is a short summary essay including personal opinions for each unit.  Along with the main course is extensive reading provided.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	受講者同士のコミュニケーションを含め，授業の使用言語は英語とする．十分な予習・復習を前提とし，授業においては受講者の積極的な発言・関与が求められ，その姿勢は成績評価にも反映される．各授業において原則的に第13週に期末試験を行い，結果のフィードバックをその後行う．English is the means of communication including student to student interaction.  Students’ active commitment to the class, with sufficient reviews and previews taken for granted, is vital; their participation will be reflected in the grading.  An in-class term examination is conducted in the 13th week and the result will be fed back in a subsequent class.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	各回とも十分な予習・復習を必要とする．また，課題は必ず期限までに提出しなければならない．Requires sufficient review and preview of each class.  Assignments must be submitted before the deadline.
