授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	The purpose of this course is to help students improve their English language skills of reading. Through extensive reading, students are expected not only to increase English vocabulary and to grasp the meaning of the text, but also to recognise patterns of text orgnisation, to make inferences and to outline the text.
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Basically, this course is conducted in English but explained in Japanese where necessary. In order to learn correct, natural and real English, the students are strongly recommended to use an English-English dictionary.  As with the previous semester, the lessons are conducted on-demand so that students can tackle their tasks individually anytime each week. In addition, class announcements and assignments will be sent through PorTa II, but we plan to move to manaba depending on the situations.

評価方法 ／Evaluation	Final grade will be based on the following: 70% Quizzes and Assignments for every class; and 30% Mid-term and Final Assignments.
