授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives |
The goal in the Writing Skills III course is to develop students’ writing and critical thinking abilities in English, progressing from production of shorter to longer academic texts, and from writing on familiar topics to writing about more complex and academic ones. Overall Objectives 1. To provide an overview of what constitutes a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand various patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students revise and edit their essays 5. To help students use a variety of sources 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To introduce the basics of referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles) |

授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course |
The lessons this semester will be conducted live online. You will need to use Zoom and you will need the Zoom app. It will be best if you have a personal computer, such as a laptop or desktop computer, and are able to connect to wifi. Due to this new method, the course contents may change, but the overall approach will be the same. A link for the Zoom online live class will be posted on Porta II. Other information and materials may be posted there, too. So check that site regularly. |
