授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	The goal in the Writing Skills IV course is to develop students’ writing and critical thinking abilities in English, progressing from production of shorter to longer academic texts, and from writing on familiar topics to writing about more complex and academic ones. Students should be encouraged to use and integrate authentic text to reflect, react, write, and revise. Overall Objectives 1. To help students understand the typical structure of a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand (genre-specific) patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students use a variety of references and utilize Internet sources 5. To help students revise and edit their essays 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	The class will have many drills and activities (including constant feedback) on their written work. Activities include journal writing, research, reading, essay writing and editing, peer feedback, extension activities.
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	All students are expected to: - Read assigned texts before lesson. - Review and prepare for the quiz. - Complete writing assignments by the date due. - Consistently write in their writing portfolio. - Review all lesson work.
