授業の目的・内容
/Course Objectives
This one-term required class teaches second-year students how to read more effectively and then presents them with the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions successfully in group and class discussions while working with topical subjects.
Overall Objectives
1. To teach students the skills involved in effective group discussion
2. To improve reading comprehension skills using topical reading material
3. To develop verbal reasoning skills together with the ability and opportunity to communicate their thoughts related to the topics and readings provided

When reading material is assigned in advance, students should read it before class.  If an assignment such as preparing a discussion topic is given, students are expected to do it.
