授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-semester course is compulsory for first-year students. Overall Objectives 1．To increase their vocabulary 2．To review grammar 3．To develop basic reading skills & strategies 4．To understand how various texts are organized
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	教材・資料の約９割は英語、約１割は日本語です。アクティブ・ラーニングの手法を用いますので、活発な授業参加が必須です。
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students are required to read all the reading and course materials, and to work closely with other students to complete tasks and assignments.
