授業の目的・内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term, twice-a-week required class helps first-year students learn how to improve their English language communication skills by introducing the organizational skills necessary to become a more competent speaker and writer. Overall Objectives 1. To help students to develop a basic knowledge of the skills required for organizing a speech and developing speech writing skills 2. To give students maximum opportunities to develop their speech delivery and speech writing skills 3. To build student confidence in speech communication in small and larger group contexts
授業の形式・方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	We follow a process-based approach staged in 5 distinct steps: in-class for the first presentation out-of-class for the second and third presentations We focus on organized writing using the structure of the classical 5-paragraph essay
事前・事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Preparation and practice of three presentations: 1) Biography of a famous dead person 2) A work of art or architecture 3) You are free to choose the topic of your third presentation
